Abstract :
In this paper, a green communication scheme is proposed for a cooperative network wherein two source nodes send data packets to a destination node with the aid of a relay node. There is a trade-off between the time taken and the energy consumed by the system to complete the transmission of the data packets. A mathematical analysis on the expected cost in time and energy by the system are derived. Based on the analysis, the relevant system parameters are adjusted so that the system operation is as green as possible (i.e. saves as much energy as possible).
