Abstract :
Summary form only given. The well known N&Fe,4B hard magnetic phase has a high rVr, and the high anisotropy promises a high coercivity. While in optimized bulk material the energy product exceeds 400 klm", NdFeB films still have a high potential for optimization. Here we focus on films prepared by pulsed laser deposition on heated substrates with aTa buffer, as this buffer provides a strong c-axis texture and inhibits interdiffusion over a large temperature range. A typical magnetization curve is depicted in fig. 1, showing a strong perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA), a saturation magnetization above 1T and a coercive field close to 1 T.
