Abstract
The authors have chosen to use an object-oriented analysis and design method and to build generic reference models that could be instantiated in the design of particular PAC systems. The production activity control principles are introduced in more detail in the second section of the paper. The problem of the choice of an object oriented method is discussed in the third section; examples of reference models are described in the fourth section with possible adaptation techniques. The fifth section describes the way these patterns are integrated in a domain-oriented CASE tool
