Abstract
This paper presents experimental comparison of the iron loss characteristics of SMC (Soft Magnetic Composite) induction motor and conventional laminated induction motor. SMC is used for the stator core of induction motor. As the result, the iron loss of SMC motor is smaller over 104Hz by sinusoidal drive. The fundamental iron loss of SMC motor is nearly equal to conventional laminated motor.
