Abstract :
In this paper, a novel transition used in half mode substrate integrated waveguide (HMSIW) connection is proposed, which is called image transition and the HMSIW with it is called image transition HMSIW (ITHMSIW). The design principle of the ITHMSIW is described and three types of ITHMSIW power divider are designed and measured. Good agreement between the simulated and measured results shows that the characteristic double-sided open edge in ITHMSIW can be used to realize symmetrical power divider effectively.
