Abstract :
Autonomous wheeled robots are used to satisfy human needs such as autonomous car, dust sweeper, or smart trolley that carry heavy goods while following the user. The problem is that without a specific algorithms the movement of the robot is jaggy and not smooth. Adaptive cruise control algorithm is an intelligent form of cruise control system for vehicles that automatically adjusts the vehicle speed to maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead and follow it. By using android smartphone interconnected with an IOIO, the desired robot can be built and the algorithm can be implemented easily, resulting in smooth movement of the robot. Smartphone usage leads to an easier maintenance as the whole program is developed in Java programming language.
