Abstract :
This paper presents practical modeling approaches to distribution systems and their implementations in realtime applications. A CIM based hierarchical system model is employed. A sub-container named CIRCUIT is introduced in a feeder for modeling the main feeders as well as feeder lateral circuits. A simplified model is proposed for unbalanced three phase networks. Other network components are also modeled with simplified models.
