Abstract :
This paper confirmed that a claw pole is effective to satisfy the voltage saturation properties to satisfy JIS, using the conventional model. Next, we proposes a new claw pole magnetic-geared generator for hub dynamos, and showed superiority of this in comparison with conventional hub dynamo. The operational principle are described and the performance is computed using 3-D finite element analysis. As a result, the volume of the magnetic circuit was successfully reduced to 78%, and the amount of permanent magnets used was reduced by 4%.
