Abstract
Bellcore has constructed a testbed for the analysis of ISDN U-interface transceivers. Transmitter pulse template compliance, an important test of transceiver U-interface standard compatibility, cannot be verified using general-purpose test equipment alone. A pulse shape estimation system based a system identification model and adaptive signal processing has been developed. By virtue of this method, the system also characterizes transmitter linearity, another important test of compatibility. Experimental results with transmitters having a known pulse shape indicate a high level of measurement accuracy for the system
