Abstract :
Renewable energy sources like wind energy; attract the attention of electrical engineers for generating electricity in the recent years. There are two predominant elements that determine the output power of a wind farm; the wind speed and the wind turbine characteristic. In this paper the wind site location and wind turbine rated power; both are selected according to the reliability indices of power system. Real wind speed data of AHAR, KHAF, APHRIZ and FADASHK in different places of Iran are used as the wind resource. Loss of load expectation (LOLE), loss of load duration (LOLF) and loss of load frequency (LOLF) are obtained as the risk indices for a test system.
