Abstract
Experimental data are presented which show that the dual delay line interferometer consisting of SH-APM (shear horizontal acoustic plate mode) devices is a sensitive analytical tool potentially capable of detecting subnanogram per millimeter quantities of a specific DNA sequence without interference from thermal drift or nonspecific DNA sequences. The APM biosensor was tested with DNA polymers and showed a measurable response at the nanogram level per millimeter of solution. The biosensor is reusable and qualitatively reproducible.<>
