  • Abstract
Due to a production error this article was mistakenly omitted from the original Xplore submission. The performance of the congestion control algorithms of most of the reliable transport protocol of internet, particularly wireless networks and mobile ad-hoc networks, are not satisfactory under a high density sensor network applications, since their designmainly meant for wired networks and not for sensor networks. In our previous works [1][2][3], the performance some of the popular transport protocols on a congested sensor network scenario were evaluated andfound that DCCP transport protocol is suitable for sensor network applications also. In this present work, the possibility of improving the performance of DCCP-TCPLike protocol is considered. A modifiedreset frequency controlled parameter re-estimation method is proposed for the improved performance of Congestion Control in DCCP_TCPlike protocol. The implementation of the proposed protocol and evaluation of these protocols were made using Network Simulator (ns2). The performance of these algorithms was measured and analyzed using suitable metrics such as throughput, End-to-End delay, Energy consumption etc. The average performance of the Reset Controlled (RC) DCCP_TCPLike networks is found to be the better than that of DCCP-TCPLike based networks, with respect to the four metrics considered in this work.
