Abstract :
Summary form only given. With the rapid proliferation of computer networks, the potential of electronic communication media to increase the effectiveness of internal processes of organizations and the performance of group activities has been frequently discussed. Especially with the increased adoption of distributive telework across organizations, effective use of low cost and general purpose communication media is becoming an important issue for a successive organizational process. A contingency study is made to investigate the role of the management support and communication characteristics on media use by teleworkers. The study is focused on two general purpose communication media: email and telephone
