Abstract :
Hue preserving is an essential requirement for color image enhancement. In this paper, an adaptive enhancement algorithm for low-illumination image based on hue reserving was presented according to the influence of light changing on image. The main idea is that constants of parabola are determined by the image; the algorithm uses parabola function to enhance the brightness, and then gets the scaling to adjust the RGB value with luminance gain acquired. The hue will keep unchanged while the brightness is increasing. The experimental results show that the algorithm is efficient in enhancement, much faster in computation and adaptive.
