  • Abstract
In the orthopaedic field, it is important to analyze bone contact area of the femur and tibia with knee motion. A 3D scanner can acquire a profile of the bone, however cannot measure a dynamic motion. While, a 3D electromagnetic sensor can measure only a dynamic motion. So, this study proposes a method that can reproduce the dynamic motion of the knee profile with the 3D scanner and electromagnetic sensors. This study is to propose a registration method of 3D profile and motion data of the knee. In the experiment, the proposed method was applied to a cadaveric knee. The developed system measured the motion of normal and deficient knees. As a result, the proposed method could reproduce the dynamic motion of the bone profile of the both of the knees.
