Abstract :
Medium Voltage (MV) Power devices are used in High Power applications. To use MV devices in High Power applications is necessary to use series connection configurations, multilevel topologies, or cascade connections due to semiconductors voltage limitations. These devices are connected to Medium Voltage so we need High Insulation between Low Voltage Power Supplies and the semiconductor drivers. In this paper a structured methodology is presented for designing High Insulation Power Supplies for Medium Voltage Power Converters. The scalable name is due to that the methodology is suitable for m number of power devices. The High Insulation Power supply design is integrated in the MV converter design.
