Abstract :
In this paper, we present a site switching diversity scheme with faster switching frequency than that of conventional site selection diversity transmission (SSDT). In a conventional SSDT, it is difficult to increase the switching rate due to the required feedback quality. The proposed fast switching scheme is configured with a centralized physical layer receiver situation including softer handover of a CDMA system. With the proposed scheme, it is possible to increase the switching rate without increasing the transmission power of the feedback information. We present the performance gain of the proposed fast switching by simulation. The proposed scheme can be combined with the conventional SSDT or the soft handover when the mobile is located at the boundary of two cells having different physical layer controllers.
