Abstract :
The performance of local wireless multipacket reception system (MPRS) employing a common direct sequence (DS) spreading code and discrete time of arrival (TOA) randomization is examined by formulating infinite population performance analysis, in which the equilibrium contour analysis is applied in order to look into the dynamic behavior of the proposed system. A load line approach is taken for stability analysis in equilibrium contour analysis that leads to an expression for the limiting throughput. It is shown that the system capacity is significantly increased over the conventional non-spread slotted ALOHA wireless system while maintaining stability, and the steady-state throughput-delay performance of a stable channel is closely approximated by its globally stable equilibrium point
