Abstract :
With distribution automation system (DAS), switches of the distribution network are remotely monitored and controlled by computers installed at the control center in sales offices. Tokyo Electric Power Co., Inc. (TEPCO) has completed the installation of DAS to all of its sale offices in order to operate the distribution network most effectively. However, the configuration of DAS computer system was composed of a fixed set of one main computer and one console for the operator at its introduction stage with limited flexibility and expansibility. Therefore, TEPCO has developed its own DAS software operating on generally used hardware. The Advanced DAS acquires the information of the distribution network such as current, voltage, I0 and V0 by the newly developed sensor built-in switches and transmits the data to the computer system of the control center by advanced remote terminal unit in order to implement more reliable quality management of power supply.
