  • Abstract
    The implementation of advanced process control on the acetylene hydrogenation reactor in ethylene complex is concerned. First, the mechanism dynamic model of the acetylene reactor is established. Then based on the model, the process observers are suggested for the product quality and reaction conversion and selectivity. Finally this research devises a control strategy with the combination of model predictive control based on the mechanism dynamic model and PID control. The effectiveness of this control strategy and the exactness of the mechanism dynamic model has been proved by the simulation, and further confirmed by its application in the project in Fushun ethylene complex. It can be concluded that it is both effective and feasible to apply advanced process control in ethylene complex.
