Abstract :
This paper outlines the modifications to the GTD-5 EAX class 5 digital switch developed to support extensions to the generic AIN 0.2 specifications for an intelligent network testbed. These enhancements demonstrate several capabilities not available in the initial AIN 0.2 release. These capabilities include: the ability for the switch to interact with the service control point (SCP) during the active and clearing phases of a call, the ability for the SCP to have limited call topology control (in order to provide universal personal telephone (UPT) type services), the support of multiple transactions per call and expanded triggering capabilities. Also illustrated are advanced call services that can be to provided via these enhanced capabilities
