Abstract :
This paper describes a new digital modulation technique for PCS, which the authors call PC-PSK (phase-compensated PSK). The basic idea in the proposed method is the use of time diversity for phase compensation. It has a phase error compensation property over phase uncertainty environments such as the motion of the transceiver, inhomogeneities in the propagation medium, and the AM/PM conversion effects of the non-linear amplifiers. The maximum range of the phase error compensation is from +90 to -90 degrees. We propose that it is suitable for a PCS system on slow-fading and time-varying Rician channels
