Abstract
Security is a critical challenge for robust and reliable wireless sensor networks. In this paper, A novel dynamic intrusion detection scheme for cluster-based wireless sensor networks is presented. The nodes in a wireless sensor network are grouped into clusters based on the special relationships with a cluster head in each cluster. The proposed scheme firstly uses a clustering algorithm to build a model of normal traffic behavior, and then uses this model of normal traffic to detect abnormal traffic patterns. According to the different network conditions of clusters, this scheme also can dynamically set different detection parameters for different clusters to achieve a more appropriate detection algorithm. The performance analysis shows that the proposed intrusion detection scheme can improve the detection accuracy and drop the false positive rate, and is highly efficient of the energy conservation.
