Abstract :
Wind energy has the potential to make a major contribution toward solving the world´s energy problems if its used in optimal economical and operating conditions. In this paper we present a stochastic model based on wind power statistics to determine the optimal rated power for a grid connected wind turbine and the best storage capacities for a stand-alone system.
