Abstract :
This paper formulates the planning problem of fixed network of cellular mobile communication networks and suggests genetic algorithms for solving it. Cellular mobile communication networks are complex systems. Genetic algorithms are examined for optimizing the whole network. First, our genetic algorithm is introduced, i.e. specifying encoding mechanism, fitness function, selection technique, operators and generational cycle. Second, methods are investigated and analyzed for improving our genetic algorithm performance. Third, to demonstrate the functionality of our algorithm an example scenario is given. Fourth, advantages and disadvantages of our genetic algorithm are discussed, with special emphasis on open problems and possible directions for future research
