Abstract
Examines the concept of team building in organizational settings. Team building is a form of social organization which seems to be replacing the traditional system of management. Two major components are introduced-the utilization of a facilitator and an emphasis on enhancing communication skills. Introducing a facilitator to coordinate activities between management and a team serves to clarify the team´s purpose and keep an open line of communication. A second emphasis is on the education of team members on the principles of small group communication. Six small group communication variables are introduced and the role of the facilitator in each is highlighted
