Abstract :
Alternative approaches using whole distribute algorithm (WDA) techniques are presented in this paper to solve the short-term hydro-thermal scheduling problem. The constraints on power demand, water balance, water transporting delay between cascaded reservoirs, reservoir storage and discharge rates are taken into account. The feasibility of the proposed algorithms is demonstrated with a well-known example used by former evolutionary algorithms for the sake of comparison.
