Abstract :
This paper presents performance evaluation results of a burst error reduction method (BERM) used in CDMA systems based on direct sequence spread spectrum (DS/SS). The BERM is used with anti-fading technologies including diversity reception, transmitting power control (PC) and interleavers and the de-interleavers for error control. Compared with the case of 1 path diversity (PD) branch and the normalized low PC rate of 10, a fading range suppression effect of 25 dB for baseband demodulated signals is obtained with 3 PD branches, a normalized PC rate of 100 and a PC step of 1 dB. A 1/15 reduction effect of the average fade duration of -10 dB is also achieved with an interleaver length of 5 msec and a PC step of 0.5 dB
