Abstract :
An array of horysontally oriented Vee-dipoles, placed over the flat interface between two media is considered. The upper medium is vacuum. The lower medium is a dielectric with arbitrary parameters. Each dipole arm is considered as an independent radiator with sinusoidal current distribution. The efficiency of the system is determined as the ratio of the far-field radiated power to the input power of radiators. When solving the problem the powers were expressed in terms of the corresponding impedances. The Pointing vector method was used for finding the radiation impedance. The method of induced EMF was used for finding mutual impedances. Proper impedances between separate dipoles were obtained from the system of Kirchhoffs equations as a combination of corresponding impedances between the arms. The numerical modeling results for the Vee-dipole array are presented.
