Abstract :
The demand for wireless services is growing rapidly. The extension of the service into the PCN domain, mostly in buildings and in pedestrian areas further enhances this trend. This trend is not specifically in one geographical area but it is worldwide. It becomes apparent that the platform cannot be built for just one standard for one geographical area. It is also apparent that users demands enhanced service and mobility network applications for their in-building wireless systems. The vision for a platform that will realize protocol independency and be quickly adaptable to new standards, and at the same time provide enhanced service such as mobility networking functions are the challenges facing system architects. This paper discuss the system architecture to achieve protocol independency and the service for mobility networking
