Abstract :
Maximum depth of sounding and spatial resolution are principal characteristics of georadars. In most cases ultra wide band (UWB) signals are using for undersurface location in dispersive media. Spectrum of that signals have bandwidth more one octave and usually the mentioned characteristics are determined for middle frequency band. So relationships for the parameters are approximate and can be used only to estimate. Below the correct method for description in frequency domain of the GPR performances is proposed. It based on factoring of frequency responses of everyone antennas, of the propagation medium and of object the overall frequency response between radiating and receiving antennas. The general dependencies of every co-factor on basic georadar´s parameters, defining by radar construction and by sounding conditions, are presented. It is shown that in real radiolocation experiment we can measure with difficulty each of these dependencies taken separately or can´t measure. Another expression for the overall frequency response between radiating and receiving antennas was proposed. Each co-factor in that expression can be measured. Obtained in that way overall frequency response enables to define correctly principal characteristics of georadar and to improve appreciably a quality of signal processing.
