Abstract :
Determine leaf area index and net photosynthetic rate of 22 common ornamental shrubs in Harbin, calculate the carbon fixation and oxygen release per unit leaf area and daily carbon fixation and oxygen release per unit area of each species, make a systematic quantitative analysis on the carbon fixation and oxygen release capacity of ornamental species in Harbin municipality. The results demonstrate that: there is obvious difference in leaf area and total leaf area among different shrubs. The leaf area index of Cornus alba is the maximum, while the leaf area index of Rhododendron mucronulatum is the minimum; the total leaf area of Lonicera ferdinandi Franch is the maximum, while the total leaf area of Lonicera tatarinovii is the minimum; the average photosynthetic rate of Crataegus maximowiczii is the maximum, next is L. ferdinandi Franch, Spiraea trichocarpa, Prunus glandulosa and Acanthopanax senticosus, the minimum is Lonicer ruprechtiana; the photosynthetic rates of 22 shrubs reach a maximum before noon, the general trends in diurnal variation of the photosynthetic rate of 11 shrubs are shown as unimodal curve; based on the carbon mass of unit leaf area and unit area, we can get the carbon fixation and oxygen release capacity of 22 shrubs, of which the maximum is C. maximowiczii, the minimum is L. ruprechtiana.
