Abstract :
Since the relationship between soil magnetism and properties was built, it should be convenient to understand and predict the soil situation. The present experiment collected the data of soil magnetic susceptibility at different elevation on the spot by the application of instrument SM-30. This paper tries to discover the link between magnetism and elevation. Preliminary studies indicate that the largest susceptibility is in the lower part while the smallest is in upper middle part of the water-level-fluctuating zone. The value of top slope is medium, same as background. There is a strong relationship between magnetic susceptibility and elevation change, based on the data of survey lines. This may indicate that the soil structure is becoming more and more loose, and skeletonization is serious. Sediment from higher area has been constantly depositing to downslope. The conclusions can be applied to the field of soil monitoring.
