The positive criterion and the calculation method of reservoir ecology flood compensation benefit are put forward based on the main ecology function of the flood shaping the river and affording environments for biology in the sediment river. Taking Longyangxia and Liujiaxia Reservoirs on Yellow River (2004)as demonstration, the result of the computing case shows that the Longyangxia and Liujiaxia Reservoirs ecological flood compensation benefits is −0.6881 billion Yuan.
