Abstract :
This paper focuses on the application of risk assessment in large power grid planning scheme using the state enumerate method. The risk evaluation models and methods for large power grid are presented. The contributions of critical component outages to the overall system risk are studied and utilized to find the weak area of a large power grid. This paper illustrates that the proposed methods and models can be effectively used in actual large power grid reinforcement planning and to provide valuable information to improve power grid reliability.
