Abstract :
Distributed resources are connected to distribution feeders using synchronous generators, induction generators, or power electronic converters. Models of these interface technologies are developed for use with an open-source distribution system simulator. Test cases and examples are presented for voltage control, short circuit, and dynamic analysis. This modeling level is appropriate for distribution system planning and operating studies. More detailed models are appropriate for harmonics, transients, and detailed design studies.
