  • Abstract
    Summary form only given. A new model for the transition response in perpendicular recording was proposed by Ozgunes et al. (2002), namely g(t) = erf(/spl radic/(ln 16)t/PW/sub 50/), where erf(/spl middot/) is the error function and PW/sub 50/ is the width of the derivative of g(t) at half its maximum. We propose new generalized PR (GPR) targets based on this transition response and compare their performance.
