Abstract :
The author provides a brief overview of forthcoming changes in the telecommunications network, in particular, the conversion to an all-digital end-to-end switched network capable of voice, video, and multimedia communications as well as high-speed data. Remote electronics, wireless communications, switching, and trends in powering are discussed in light of the ongoing evolution of network systems
