Abstract
Thermal images plays an important role at Power stations, nuclear plants, petroleum products extraction and Forensic labs. Protection of thermal images are very important. This paper presents a thermal image encryption based on Backward binary to gray conversion and chaotic map. Input gray thermal image undergo Backward binary to gray conversion process to produced intermediate cipher image. Based on chaotic sequence a random like chaotic image generated and perform XOR operation between intermediate cipher image and chaotic image to get final encrypted image. Experimental results shows the proposed method achieves the good level of security in terms of entropy, NPCR and UACI.
