Abstract :
A new analytic method for the electromagnetic field in stratified media-the counter-propagation deduction (CPD) method has been suggested by the authors, which, by introducing a new concept-the boundary originated set (BOS) of waves, is characterized by constructing or deducing the solutions directly, and can provide direct mathematic expressions of the fields in an arbitrary layer convenient for numerical evaluation by computer programming. This paper discusses its application in the analysis of the electromagnetic field excited by vertical electrical dipoles
