Abstract :
The main use made of a SCADA system by the operator is data acquisition and processing (DAP). We demonstrate the multilevel structure of such a system and describe the main properties of DAP systems. We demonstrate that DAP is a technical and information problem. There are two examples given illustrating the practical application of the DAP system: a traffic control system and a gas distribution network
