  • Abstract
This paper aims to characterize the ratio indicator cited by Wei-Da Hao and Y. C. Jenq (1994). The ratio indicator enables the stochastic up and down method with the ability showing users the precision of the estimation. In this way, waveform reconstruction with jittered data can be conducted in a reliable way. By studying in detail the stochastic stationary model by R. K. Tsutakawa (1967), a computing intensive calculation for the 98% percentile of the stationary distribution is implemented. The result shows that the ratio indicator can be characterized as a function of the rate of the convergence of the stationary distribution, and the value of the ratio indicator converges to a constant. With this characterization, ratio indicator can be applied more rigorously to make highly precise measurement task implementable.
