Abstract :
Summary form only given. Because of the small dimension of micromachined devices, they show some characteristics that are different from normal devices. In order to optimize the structure of a /spl Phi/1 mm permanent magnet axial-field motor, the effects of air gap width, thickness of rotor, number of layers of windings, and number of magnetic poles in the rotor on the output torque are analyzed in this paper.
