Abstract :
10-Gbit/s 16-QAM transmission over 160 km with a single dual-drive Mach-Zehnder modulator was experimentally demonstrated. We achieved BER <; 10-9 in a BtB condition and <; 10-7 after the transmission. Electronic pre-equalization was employed to suppress signal distortion.
