Abstract
This paper describes a fully automated parameter calibration test to measure the magnetising curve of a squirrel cage induction motor. This has been achieved by applying the extended Kalman filter to data obtained from tests with the machine at standstill. The derivation of the procedure is outlined and simulation results are presented illustrating the operation of the identifier. Experimental results verify the operation of the new scheme
