Abstract :
Equipment for estimating road surface conditions, capable of producing more advanced road surface condition output by combination of various surface sensors developed in the past, was produced and installed on the test truck of the Public Works Research Institute (PWRI) of the Ministry of Construction in December 1998. Some experiments were made on the test truck of PWRI and the findings suggested the possibility of developing the road surface condition sensing system. Future research is expected to focus on detection performance evaluation for more complex road surface conditions
