Abstract
This paper used the finite element simulation method, applied Schoenberg´s fractured media theory into the simulation of two component wave field in the fractured media of coal seam, and simulated the single shot record in the three layers fractured media model. The simulation results indicate that when the coal-seam contains fracture, the single shot records will be affected visibly. The influences can be found mainly in the energy and amplitude vers offset characteristics. The characteristics of x component and z component are different. The dissymmetry of the amplitude and energy be found when the symmetry axes of the fractured media rotates. Therefore it is possible that coal seam fracture can be detected by multi-component converted wave.
