Abstract
Measuring vehicle motion and orientation is very important for not only automated vehicle control but obstacle detection. This paper describes a new approach to measure vehicle motion and orientation, which is essential information for detecting small obstacles with a single CCD camera. This paper also introduces the possibility of measuring road gradient and dips on road surfaces using optical flow
