Ecological design of city park for example of Xuanwu Lake Park

The ecological concept is the core idea of city park design. Following the regional principle and the Chinese traditional gardening theory of “natural imitation”, taking water as the core, waterfront and plant communities as the key point, natural elements and plants as the means, the study analyzes the ecological situation of Xuanwu Lake Park and puts forward some ecological design ideas and methods for landscape function restructuring, road system and infrastructure redesigning, water system reshaping, and plants system reconfiguring. Research shows that the ecological design is a whole concept that should be considered from the geographical conditions of natural environment and the ecological habits of organisms, and carried out throughout the process of city park design.
