Abstract
With the introduction of restructuring in the electric power industry, the price and availability of electricity has become a primary issue for participating entities. This paper emphasizes the possibility of generating electricity in space by using solar cells in geosynchronous satellites and utilizing wireless power transmission. The paper further discusses various techniques for utilizing the space power and emphasizes the possibility of transferring space power to earth in the form of microwaves using antennas called rectenna.
